HOW TO START SUCCESSFULLY IN THE FISHING OF SEA BASS ON THE SEASHORE?

Fishing on the seashore can be difficult when you do not know how or where to fish. Discover in this council where to find these combative fish and what material to use to capture them.

WHERE CAN YOU FIND SEA BASS?

BEACHES / BARS
The beach is probably the most accessible place to fish for sea bass. But, before this large expanse of water, where are we most likely to find these fish?
The answer is in the bars or corridors parallel to the coast. These are water currents caused by the tides that form in the buckets. Look at the areas where the current stops or where it is different from the tide. Many times, sea basses like to go through these areas to feed themselves.

ROCKS / COUNTERCURRENTS
As in the case of bars, sea bass like areas where the current is changing or even non-existent. In these cases, they are close to the structures waiting for the least opportunity to eat.

PLACES OF PASSAGE OF FISH
Seabass is never far from estuaries, coves, docks, mouths or mouths, where there are much fish going down or upstream. Scroll to explore the area and find the active fish that feed.

SITES WHERE FISH OR BIRDS FEED
Sometimes it can happen that you discover a place on the surface on which predatory fish are feeding. In this case, you will see a great superficial agitation, with fish that sometimes jump out of the water or with birds that peck at it to catch fish.
If you find this food euphoria, do not think twice, throw in the center and move the lure energetically making some breaks.

THE MATERIAL

THE CANE
To reach distances that are sometimes large, it is better to have a long rod that allows you to launch far away. The canes between 2.70 m and 3 m are perfect for this use. If the place where you fish is shallow or has little current, use a rod with a range of power between 10 and 50 g. If you want to fish in a place where there is current or that is deep, it is better to choose a rod with a power of between 20 and 60 g.
These powers represent the optimal weight of the lures you can throw.

THE REEL
The reel must be able to contain a good amount of line (between 250 and 300 m). For this, choose reels of size 3500, 4000 or 4500.

THE FISHING LINE
As regards the line, it is very advisable to use a braid. Its resistance is superior to that of the classic line and this will allow you to reduce the diameter and increase the distance, which is essential for fishing sea bass at the edge of the sea.

We recommend that you use a braid between 12/100 and 16/100.
And, although it is not mandatory, you can increase the discretion by using a fluorocarbon line low. This line has the peculiarity that it is almost invisible under water. To have a good resistance, we advise you to put between 50 cm and 1 m fluorocarbon of 40/100.

THE LURES

Surface lures are floating lures that imitate fish. Their unpredictable swim, from left to right, causes the fish to bite when they are on the surface and can climb to look for them from one or two meters deep.

The jerk baits are decoys that imitate the fish and that allow fishing under the surface or a little more in depth. They are very effective when the fish are suspended between 2 and 4 m under water. You can move them in 3 different ways:
In a linear way, throwing and picking.

Erratically, shaking the strut so that the lure moves to the right and to the left.
Giving jerky jerks for pauses.

It is you who has to find the way that works best for you.

The flexible lures are the most versatile. Depending on the weight of the plumb head you use, they will fish more or less deep. Do not hesitate to vary the colors, even using fluorescent colors, since they attract a lot to the sea bass. You can move them linearly. You can also give big jerky jerks by long pauses to let the lure touch the bottom.

The jigs are metallic lures that are thrown very far. Like the decoys, they allow fishing in different layers of water according to the weight. And they also allow different types of animations: launch and collect in a linear way, giving jerks for pauses or with big pulls combined with long pauses to touch the bottom. The latter allows the lure to "flutter" by emitting flashes during breaks.

#Truco Capelin: start fishing on the surface, then between two glasses of water and, finally, in the background if you have not got the fish to bite before. This will allow you to fish in all layers of water and look for fish wherever they are. If you start fishing in the bottom and the sea bass are on the surface, you run the risk of bothering them during the launch and causing them to run away.

Now you know the basics for fishing sea bass on the seashore. We wish you many catches and that you enjoy fishing this very combative fish.
